Matt Smith
Matt Smith was a free agent signee with the Texas Rangers in 2005. After his senior season at Virginia Military Institute where Matt was a 2004 first team all Big South player, Smith's name litters his college's record books. He left VMI with 218 hits, 38 stolen bases - 5th all time, 208 games in his career, and 753 at bats - the most in school history. He spent the summer of 2005 at the Rangers Arizona rookie-league team and was promoted to the Clinton Lumber Kings single A team for the remainder of the 2005 schedule." |
